Paramount Welcomes New Employees
Paramount have recently welcomed a further two new employees into the fold and we thought now would be an opportune moment to introduce Julie and Claire.
Julie Fitzpatrick is a highly experienced Costs Lawyer with over 12 years’ experience of legal costs. Julie worked for a large costing firm in Carlisle before moving to Paramount to help expand our civil department and to set up a new private client costing department.
Julie is experienced in a wide range of Civil matters and can prepare informal costs schedules for negotiation, detailed Bills for Assessment by the Court, Points of Dispute and Replies.
Paramount’s new Private Client Department specialises in Probate and Court of Protection matters. Solicitors may not normally consider instructing Costs Draftsmen to cost their Probate files however we find we often achieve a higher level of profit costs than expected by solicitors who often underestimate the time they have actually spent on the file.
In respect of Court of Protection matters, Julie can prepare all types of Bills of Costs for assessment by the Supreme Court Costs Office, including the costs of appointing Deputies, Annual General Management Costs and Costs of Statutory Will Applications.
Julie is married with two young children and therefore doesn’t have much free time but, with any spare time she does have, she enjoys reading, cooking and eating out.
Claire Robson is a highly experienced Costs Draftsman in all areas of Family and Care Public Funding work, specialising in High Cost Cases in both Public and Private Law matters. Claire also has a thorough knowledge of the new Family Fixed Fee and Family Advocacy Schemes to help Solicitors maximise their profit costs. Claire worked at a large costing company for nearly 10 years before moving to Paramount Legal Costs looking to provide the same high quality work to Solicitors but on a more personal level. Since joining Paramount, Claire has established an additional service, liaising with the High Cost Cases Unit on the behalf of Solicitors, in order to obtain a High Cost Case Contract.
Originally from the North East, Claire moved to Cumbria after gaining a B.A (Hons) in English at University. After initially working in the Retail Industry, Claire ‘fell into’ costing accidentally but now finds the role of Costs Draftsman both stimulating and challenging.
In her spare time Claire enjoys going to the cinema, music, reading all kinds of fiction and exercise especially Zumba, Yoga and Aerobics.
We have been very lucky to find both Julie and Claire and their mix of experience and specialisms complements our already knowledgeable and experienced team perfectly.
